Mist, divinator, ritual.

I find myself submerged by the force of memory linked to these three words when trying to recall my trip to Guizhou, a southwestern province in China.

The land is inhabited by a handful of ethnic groups - among which Miao, Dong, Shui peoples still maintain a lively tradition, distinctively different from that of the Han Chinese.

I was commissioned by one French TV program to search for the 'lost tribe' . Those are among the images that I've brought back. These faces stay with my mind's eyes not because of the difference that the French were looking for, rather, it is the 'sameness' - dignity, humbleness and modesty - the gems of us the human-beings.
